Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Finance Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will support a broad range of finance functions, including financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and operational finance tasks. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a strong interest in finance who is looking to build a well-rounded foundation in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, management accounts, and performance analysis.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Monitor financial markets, economic trends, and key business metrics.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform financial reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with various departments (operations, sales, procurement, etc.) on finance-related matters.
- Prepare presentations and financial summaries for management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of financial statements, markets, and economic principles.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Requirements:
- Internship or prior experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., Pastel, SAP, Xero, or similar).
- Knowledge of financial modelling and data analysis tools.
- Understanding of South African financial regulations and reporting standards (advantageous for local applicants).
