SUMMARY:

An international freight forwarder and logistics service provider is looking for a Junior Entry Clerk to join their customs department in the sunny and vibrant coastal city of Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Customs Affairs

Ensure all import documents received for preparing customs clearance are correct and sufficient
Ensure that correct tariff headings are applied, and correct duties paid.

Customers

Attend to client's Customs technical requirements
Provide advice on tariff headings and duty rates
Assist with applications for Customs code
Provide advice on permit requirements
Assist with applications for Import Permits
Assist with manual Duty and Vat calculations

SARS (Customs Documents)

Tariff and frame bills of entry
Frame ex-bond bills of entry
Frame voucher of corrections

Risk

Conduct quality control when requested
