This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across electrical building services, design, project execution and site support.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to the design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial, residential and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and engineering of electrical systems for commercial, residential and industrial projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and equipment selection under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Develop and review electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics and technical drawings.
• Prepare electrical engineering documentation, specifications, schedules, calculations, bills of quantities and other project deliverables.
• Produce and update CAD drawings and engineering models in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Assist senior engineers with technical investigations, feasibility studies and design development.
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather information required for electrical design and project execution.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Assist with resolving technical issues and coordinating electrical requirements with contractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, progress meetings and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with relevant South African standards, regulations, project specifications and client requirements.
• Assist with the preparation and checking of tender documentation, technical reports, equipment specifications and procurement schedules.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and project teams to ensure electrical engineering requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to effective quality assurance and engineering governance.
• Develop technical knowledge through exposure to a variety of projects, technologies and engineering environments.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng / BSc / BTech / National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related qualification.
• Relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Graduate engineers with strong academic results and relevant project exposure will be considered.
• Exposure to electrical building services, power distribution or consulting engineering will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with electrical design software and AutoCAD will be beneficial.
• Working knowledge of relevant South African electrical standards and regulations.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites where required.
