SUMMARY:
Junior Draughtsman
East Rand

Position Purpose
To provide drafting and design support to the engineering and manufacturing teams by producing accurate technical drawings, updating existing designs, and maintaining engineering documentation. The role focuses on developing technical drafting skills while supporting product development, manufacturing, and project activities.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Produce 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software.
Create manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings.
Revise and update existing drawings as required.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation.
Assist engineers with design modifications and product improvements.
Maintain drawing registers and document control systems.
Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and specifications.
Support production teams with technical drawing clarification.
Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
Assist with engineering change management processes.

Minimum Qualifications

National Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or a related field.
CAD certification advantageous.

Experience

1–3 years of drafting experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Technical Skills

AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar CAD software.
Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.
