Junior Data Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a company focusing on a wide spectrum of the Information Technology industry, that has their goals set on better the future of businesses, is looking for a Junior Data Engineer in Pretoria.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology / Computer Science / Actuarial.
• 0-2 years’ experience.
• Good understanding or some experience in the following:

• Python
• SQL
• Cosmos DB
• PySpark
• Azure
• Power BI

• Bilingual: Afrikaans (speak or understand) and English.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements.
• Automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Keep data separated and secure.
• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
•  Assist analytics and data scientist team members in building and optimizing product into an innovative industry leader.
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems.
