Junior Data Analyst

SUMMARY:
Looking for Junior Data Scientists/Analysts with a passion or interest in emerging technologies.

POSITION INFO:

The triumphant candidates will form part of a newly established division and should possess statistical and quantitative skills. Individuals who have a collaborative and technology development mentality, are interested in cloud-based technologies, and are fascinated with finance and/or financial services, are encouraged to apply.

Duties:

• Audit and product development teams’ collaboration
• Problem-solving using computer applications, modeling, statistics, analytics and mathematics
• Information presentation using data visualization techniques
• Pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
• Optimization and improvement of client technology solutions
• Development of data models and algorithms
• Data sourcing and gathering
• Trend/pattern discovery and analysis

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Engineering, Maths/Finance, Actuarial Science, BSc Computer Science, BCom Information Systems/Informatics
• Postgraduate degree advantageous

Experience:

• Working with statistics and programming languages
• Machine learning modeling and software development/programming – advantageous
• Data governance, lineage and management principles
