SUMMARY:
Our client is searching for a Junior Creditors Accountant who will be responsible for managing and processing creditor accounts, ensuring accurate cost allocations, and supporting financial control processes.

This role involves creditor reconciliations, invoice processing, dispute management, and ensuring timely payments.

The position also requires strong Excel and system skills to support automation, efficiency, and reporting.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Creditors & Financial Control

Process and allocate creditor invoices accurately to the correct cost codes.
Verify invoices against service agreements and ensure correct rates are applied.
Capture invoices in QX system and prepare batches for processing.
Reconcile creditor accounts monthly before payment runs.
Align actual costs vs. estimated costs and investigate variances.
Prepare remittances and ensure timely distribution of Proof of Payment (POP) to creditors.
Manage consumable stock control to minimize waste and loss.
Support year-end reconciliation processes in line with SOPs.

Payments & Queries

Ensure weekly payments are processed by COB Mondays and Wednesdays.
Prepare monthly payments by the 25th of each month.
Handle creditor queries and disputes professionally and within required timeframes.
Maintain effective communication with service providers to strengthen relationships.

Systems & Reporting

Utilize Excel (V-lookup, X-lookup, advanced formulas) for reconciliations and reporting.
Contribute to the automation of creditor-related processes.
Generate and review cost capture reports for accuracy.

Growth & Development

Build knowledge of business structures, SOPs, supply chain processes, and financial systems.
Identify and report cost-related issues to the Cost Accountants.
Develop a sound understanding of contracted rates, terms, and supply chain value.

Requirements

Education

Diploma in Management Accounting or equivalent qualification.
Training in supply chain processes and associated costs (advantageous).

Experience

Minimum 1 year of cost management experience, preferably within fruit exports or a similar environment.

Skills

Strong numerical and analytical ability with attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, imports, mapping).
Knowledge of VAT and statutory requirements.
Basic cost accounting skills and understanding of service provider rate structures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for handling queries and disputes.
