SUMMARY:
Our client in the manufacturing industry is urgently looking for a Junior Buyer to join their team

POSITION INFO:

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng

Requirements:

Matric
Diploma/Degree in Purchase Management
Must have 3-4 years of experience in a Buyer role
Must be fluent in Afrikaans (Non-Negotiable)
Experience in the corrugated box industry will be an added advantage
Must be proficient in MS Office Suites
Must have a very good understanding of accruals and cut off dates
Must be very open-minded and be able to adapt to change
Must have very good negotiation skills

Responsibilities:

Purchasing goods, machinery, equipment, raw materials, and parts for internal consumption
Handling all purchasing functions and responsibilities
Adhering to project requirements, identify cost savings and expedite deliveries
Work cross-functionally within a matrix organizational team structure and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers, ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives
Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them
Negotiating and agreeing on contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules, and quality
Conducting Assessments on all the suppliers and providing feedback to management
Various other ad hoc projects that may be required from time to time
