Junior Bookkeeper and Payroll Administrator - Remote

SUMMARY:
Are you detail-driven and excellent at keeping financial processes accurate and organised?
 
This is a key support role in our client's accounting team, assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll administration, reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
 
They are a well-established company in the finance sector and requires your solid numerical accuracy and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

• Gr 12 or equivalent qualification
• Bookkeeping or related qualification advantageous
• 3-4 years’ bookkeeping or payroll experience
• Strong knowledge of VAT and SARS processes
• Professional communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
• Experience with Xero, Sage, Pastel or similar accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

• Managing debtors, creditors, cashbooks, journals, and bank reconciliations
• Processing bookkeeping transactions for a portfolio of clients
• Assisting with SARS queries and submissions
• Preparing and submitting VAT, PAYE, UIF, and EMP201/EMP501 returns
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records up to Trial Balance
• Processing monthly payroll, including salaries, wages, leave, and statutory deductions
• Ensuring client records are complete, accurate, and compliant with deadlines
• Preparing supporting schedules for monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
• Communicating professionally with clients to obtain information and provide feedback on outstanding matters
