Junior Attorney (Estates)

SUMMARY:
A respected law firm in Newlands, Cape Town seeks a motivated Junior Attorney to help grow the Estates Administration Department. This is an opportunity for someone who is self-driven and eager to grow within the firm. 

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• 2–3 years post-admission experience
• Experience in estates administration, including drafting wills and winding up of deceased estates
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of files in a newly established department
• Solid understanding of the Administration of Estates Act, Master's Office procedures, and executor duties
• Experience with estate duty calculations, liquidation and distribution accounts, and formal estate reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with professional client and family liaison ability (including in sensitive or bereaved circumstances)
• High level of accuracy, organisational skill, and attention to detail
• Willingness to adapt, problem-solve, and help shape systems and workflows for a new division
• Experience with LegalSuite, EstatePro, or similar estates software will be advantageous
