POSITION INFO:

Are you a BCom Accounting graduate with strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills and a genuine passion for the wine industry and international business?

Our client is seeking a dynamic Junior Accountant / Finance & Business Administrator to take ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial administration while supporting an exciting, internationally focused wine business.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting functions through to Income Statement
Process payments, receipts and bank reconciliations on Pastel
Manage debtors, invoicing and weekly payment follow-ups
Prepare VAT calculations and SARS supporting documentation
Process foreign VAT claims
Prepare budgets, financial reports and show profitability reports
Monitor international wine show budgets, income and expenditure
Assist with payroll administration and financial reporting
Liaise with clients, suppliers and external accountants/auditors
Handle general business administration, correspondence and travel arrangements
Assist with DTI applications, sales analysis and company planning

Criteria:

BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting degree preferred
Strong academic record, with Mathematics in Matric essential
Afrikaans and English speaking
Strong Excel and Pastel skills
Excellent numerical and analytical ability
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
Confident communicator with a proactive approach
Interest in wine, international business and travel highly advantageous

The opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate or junior accountant to gain broad, hands-on exposure across accounting, finance, business administration and the international wine industry, including exposure to European operations and international wine shows.

Office-based in Cape Town CBD for the first 3 months, thereafter potential for 1 day remote per week. Flexi working hours.
