Junior Accountant

SUMMARY:
Are you an enthusiastic young Accountant who is looking for a new opportunity to use your minimum two years accounting experience with Advanced Excel (Indexing, Listing, IFS) skills? Collating of large volumes of financial data and reconciliations? Your analytical skills & performance driven personality will be put to good use improving systems & coordinating monthly internal accounts procedures

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Matric, plus relevant tertiary qualification i.e., BCom accounting, etc.

Proven experience of at least two years in an accounting role

In-depth understanding of entire Microsoft Office suite

Must have Advanced Excel – Indexing, Listing and IFS Functions

Excellent time management skills

Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills

Professional level verbal and written communication skills

Deadline driven with attention to detail

Professional discretion, analytical and meticulous

DUTIES

Responsible for collating financial information managing high data volume reconciliations

Maintaining cash management records, including bank reconciliations and daily deposits

Responsible for book closing and maintaining the general ledger accounts in line with GAAP and corporate accounting policies

Reconciling and checking daily tolling as well as researching any variances and providing resolution thereof

Coordinated monthly internal accounting procedures

Maintaining the current filing and database system

Assist with internal and external audits

Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends

Enforced adherence to requirements, filing reports, advising management on needed actions

Provide general administrative support

Manage any additional duties as required

Salary: R28k plus quarterly incentive bonus, dependent on experience
