SUMMARY:
Our client is looking to appoint a Junior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This opportunity is well suited to an early-career accounting professional who is keen to strengthen their technical capabilities while gaining exposure to a wide range of finance functions within a fast-paced environment.

POSITION INFO:
The successful individual will assist the finance team with day-to-day accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, the efficient processing of transactions, and compliance with established internal controls and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Processing & Record Keeping:
- Assist with posting journal entries to the general ledger
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation
- Perform bank, supplier statement, and petty cash reconciliations
- Maintain and update financial records within the accounting system
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Capture invoices and credit notes accurately
- Assist with payment runs and the preparation of remittance advice
- Follow up on outstanding customer accounts where required
- Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices
Reporting & Financial Support:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Prepare reconciliations and assist with variance explanations
- Support the preparation of audit files and documentation
- Compile weekly and monthly financial reports as required
Compliance & Administrative Support:
- Maintain organised financial filing systems (digital and physical)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Provide ad hoc support to the Senior Accountant and Group Financial Manager

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Basic understanding of IFRS and accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables advantageous)
Experience with accounting software, such as Xero, would be beneficial

Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years’ relevant accounting or finance experience (including internships)
Exposure to bookkeeping, financial administration, and transactional finance tasks
