SUMMARY:
An established organisation is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal reporting requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Process accounting transactions up to Trial Balance
Perform General Ledger reconciliations
Assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting packs
Ensure invoices are processed in the correct accounting period
Prepare and submit VAT201 and EMP201 calculations and returns in accordance with SARS requirements
Process weekly wages
Assist with payroll reconciliations
Match GRNs to supplier invoices and investigate discrepancies
Perform monthly creditor reconciliations
Follow up on outstanding invoices
Report outstanding amounts, queries, and claims to the Financial Manager
Process all supplier credit notes
Investigate and resolve supplier claims
Assist with audit preparation and related documentation
Compile various ad-hoc financial reports as required
Perform general administrative duties within the finance department
Undertake additional finance-related tasks or projects as reasonably required

Requirements:

Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
Working knowledge of VAT, EMP201 submissions, and payroll processes
Strong reconciliation and numerical skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
