POSITION INFO:

Company and Job Description:

Our client is a well-established organisation based in Illovo, Johannesburg, with a strong focus on accurate financial management and operational excellence. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Accountant to contribute to the finance team, develop your skills, and grow within the company. Work alongside experienced financial accountants and gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions in a professional and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain daily cashbook entries and perform accurate bank reconciliations.
Process supplier and customer accounts, including invoices, payments, and queries.
Assist with the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Support month-end close, preparation of journals, and management reporting.
Reconcile control accounts (debtors, creditors, VAT) and assist with audits.
Monitor sales statistics and provide data for financial analysis.
Provide general administrative support to the finance department.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

Diploma in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, or Financial Management.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration experience.

Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Pastel, Embrace, or similar.
Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Other Requirements:

Must be reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable performing routine financial tasks consistently.
