Our client is a well-established international trading business based in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands. They're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team and grow with the business.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the broader finance function across a range of responsibilities, including:

Cash and balance sheet reconciliations
Intercompany accounting and clearing open items
Month-end close activities — accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis
Maintaining the fixed assets register
Supporting statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements
Maintaining master data across finance and operational systems
Contributing to process improvements and compliance frameworks

What you'll need

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
1–2 years' experience in an accounting role
Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Familiarity with an ERP system (PeopleSoft or similar is a plus)
Solid numerical and analytical ability with high attention to detail
The ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines without dropping the ball

Bonus points for

Experience in a multi-currency environment
Exposure to Power BI or process automation tools
