POSITION INFO:
The Role
As a Junior Metallurgical Engineer, you’re the technical backbone of the coal plant — monitoring performance, ensuring product quality, troubleshooting issues, and driving optimisation. You’ll gain handsâon exposure to beneficiation circuits and build a strong foundation for future senior roles.
What You’ll Work On
- Monitor key plant metrics: yield, ash %, CV, moisture, size distribution
- Optimise DMS, spirals, screens, crushers, and flotation
- Conduct sampling, floatâsink tests, proximate analysis
- Analyse trends and compile daily/weekly reports
- Troubleshoot density, separation, and equipment issues
- Ensure product meets customer specs and compliance standards
- Support operations, maintenance, shutdown planning, and SHEQ practices
What You Need- BSc/BEng Metallurgical Engineering (Extraction essential)
- 3–5 years’ coal processing plant experience
- Exposure to DMS, spirals, screening, crushing, flotation
- Strong analytical ability and data accuracy
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable in a highâperformance environment
