JUNIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER
Swellendam

Our client offers an opportunity to a JUNIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER on an extensive and fast-growing citrus farm in the Swellendam area of the Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
The incumbent, who will report to the owner and the senior production manager, will be responsible for:

• collating of all production data
• managing highly technical production systems which includes sensors, probes and drones
• identify opportunities to introduce technology in the production process
• design and implement technology driven procedures in the production process
• managing production activities including planting, watering, fertilizing and pruning
• the effective management of the human resources component
• all related administrative functions which include budgeting and management reports
• procurement procedures
• general management of farming activities 

The ideal candidate is an energetic and practical person with a keen interest in citrus farming; passionate about technology and the implementation thereof in a production/ farming environment. This role can be suitable for a recently qualified candidate looking for an entry into citrus production. The successful candidate will have to be able to act autonomously.
 
> A tertiary qualification in Agriculture will be highly advantageous.
