JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT/ FINANCE ASSISTANT

Our client, operating in the mining equipment hire and maintenance industry, is looking for a Junior Accountant/Financial Assistant to join their team in Kroondal, Rustenburg, starting at the end of May. The ideal candidate will be a diverse individual with a logical and structured approach to problem-solving, strong financial reporting and analytical skills, and a solid understanding of spreadsheet formulas and functions. The successful applicant should be able to work well in a team while performing their duties independently and with minimal supervision.

POSITION INFO:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

•  Financial analysis/build financial models.
• A basic knowledge of Payroll and employment regulation
• Manage the day-to-day financial operations within the company (Xero accounting, online management system, payroll, invoicing, and other transactions).
• Contract creditors and debtors as required.
• Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
• Research and analyse financial reports.
• Review financial data and prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial management and reporting purposes.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the Company.

• Minimum three years’ experience in a finance or an accounting role with strong financial analytical skills and reporting.
• Advanced Excel knowledge and skills is non-negotiable.
• Experience with financial management and/or reporting systems.
• Experience in performing the full accounting function up to TB.
• Matric/ grade 12 or equivalent.
• Diploma, degree or equivalent accounting or finance-related qualification.
• Understanding of data privacy standards.
• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Broad understanding of business principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail.
