My client is in the food manufacturing industry

Job Description

My client is seeking a motivated and detail orientated R&D Technologist to support the development, improvement and quality assurance of our product range. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to

Lead and support new product development
Develop new products – dry, powder-blend products.
Reformulate existing products to improve functionality
Develop and maintain formulation for batch pack products ensuring ingredient compatibility
Conduct pilot and factory production trials to validate new and existing products
Prepare product formulations
Evaluate raw materials and identify suitable ingredient alternatives
Perform sensory evaluations
Work closely with production to troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues
Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality management systems

Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline

Skills

10 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing or product development (MUST HAVE experience with DRY POWDER-BLEND PRODUCTS)
Must be fluent in Afrikaans
Good understanding of food legislation and labelling requirements
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Systems
Experience with product formulation and commercial manufacturing processes

Salary/Package

R45 000 to R50 000 CTC depending on experience
