Inventory Controller

SUMMARY:
Growing company supplying perishable food to the retail market, based in Maitland, Cape Town is looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Controller.
 
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing costing structures, inventory movement and stock control processes while supporting financial accuracy across operations.
 
This role is suited to someone who has experience working with product costing, stock management, analysing data and who is comfortable working with technology and large datasets.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:
 
Manage and maintain product costing structures, including recipe costing and bill of materials (BOMs)
Monitor and control inventory movements across the business
Process and verify GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers) and supplier deliveries
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory systems
Coordinate and oversee regular stock takes and stock reconciliations
Investigate and resolve stock variances, wastage, and costing discrepancies
Assist with setting up stock codes, costing models, and system structures
Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and stock control
 
Requirements:
 
Experience working with data and costings
Previous experience with inventory management and stock control
Practical experience handling GRVs, stock movements, and stock reconciliation processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong Excel skills
Comfortable working with ERP, inventory, or accounting systems
Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
