Gijima is recruiting the following interns In Pietermaritzburg

• 1 x Service Desk Co-ordinator Intern (logging calls, prioritizing support requests, escalations)
• 1 x Operational Security Intern (supporting threat detection, monitor security systems, creating dashboards)
• 1 x System Engineer Intern (assist in providing Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and VMWare support)

POSITION INFO:
The criteria are as follows:-

• Candidates must have completed a 3 year Degree, National Diploma, Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6)
• Clear credit (ITC) and no criminal record
• Excellent communication skills and must be competent in English
• Must currently be unemployed
• Must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
• Must currently NOT be enrolled at any tertiary institution
• Candidates must live in the Pietermaritzburg area – RELOCATION IS NOT AN OPTION
• Must be under the age of 35 as of 1 July 2026
• Must be a South African Citizen - African, Coloured and Indian can apply

• Knowledge of Performance Monitoring
• Knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager/Intune (Patch Management)
• Knowledge of Azure – Microsoft Defender, EDR, Identity & Access Management
• Knowledge in VMware will be an added advantage
• Functional understanding of network, system, and application security concepts
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools, operating systems and concepts like firewalls and intrusion detection. (Checkpoint, Darktrace, Windows, macOS)
• Knowledge of Wintel Theory, Wintel administration and Wintel tuning
• Network communications (Basic)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP
• Knowledge in VMware will be an added advantage
