International Timber Sales Specialist

SUMMARY:
Company: A global timber trading company based in Germany, with operations spanning multiple countries, has extended its reach into South Africa. Over the years, the company has developed a robust international network specializing in the buying and selling of premium hardwood. By maintaining direct relationships with forestry companies and sawmills in supplying regions, they offer their clients extensive access to the global timber market. This allows them to respond swiftly to specific customer needs while consistently delivering high-quality products.
Role: Timber Sales Specialist
Location:  Must be Western Cape based  - remote / work from home

POSITION INFO:
The Timber Sales Specialist will be instrumental in growing the business by connecting and engaging with customers and expanding trade globally.
The successful candidates will have the following: 

• A minimum of 3 years experience in sales, within the timber  industry.
• Experienced in dealing with and developing business in international markets (very little business is done within the South African market)
• Proven new business acquisition abilities. 
• Ideally international network (hardwood timber importers)
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of different wood types and grades is required.
• Excellent e-mail communication and negotiation skills (English).
• Self-motivated with a results-driven approach. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
