SUMMARY:
Our client is on a sustainable journey to provide and deliver innovative, renewable solar PV solutions to customers internationally. With offices based in South Africa and the UK, they are on the lookout for an International Brand & Marketing Manager to manage and grow their brand presence and reputation, as well as devise and execute in-territory marketing plans to help generate business and fuel their growth.
 
This dynamic and autonomous, international role offers candidates the opportunity to make a real impact in the innovative world of renewable energy in both Africa and Europe.
 
The successful candidate will be based at their offices in Spier Wine Estate, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, and will report to both the UK and South African Managing Directors.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
1. To create and deliver an effective and ongoing international brand campaign to raise the company’s profile and grow our reputation, including:
  • Plan, craft and deliver a comprehensive, multi-channel communications program across a suitable range of online and offline media to achieve a significant and sustained brand boost for the business
  • Day-to-day management of all social media channels and website content through the use of effective storytelling, content creation, and scheduling via a clear content plan.
  • Challenge and influence at a senior level the direction of the brand, bringing ideas, inspiration, and creative thinking.
  • Champion brand guidelines to drive consistency through the business.
  • Build relationships with relevant ambassadors, media, and key influencers.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications and brand improvement by the provision of timely and accurate reporting, together with recommendations for improvements/further initiatives.
2. To devise and execute two appropriate in-territory, inquiry-generating marketing plans, one each for South Africa and the United Kingdom, likely to involve:
  • Audience insights, segmentation, and proposition development.
  • The use, creation, and deployment of relevant media in integrated campaigns, including email, events, owned/earned/paid digital media, collateral, and print.
  • Local website and search performance.
  • Effective performance monitoring of business outcomes.
3. Operating as an effective member of the senior management team:
  • Attendance at, and report to Operational Board meetings.
  • Promoting collaborative working relationships and effective communication.
  • Promoting the company’s vision, mission, and values in all aspects of your work.
You will be:
  • A strong brand and marketing specialist with at least 5 years of experience.
  • A good strategist who is also able to develop plans, but also be hands-on in bringing them to fruition.
  • An effective multitasker who is able to work effectively at all levels of our business, in collaboration with others and across countries.
  • Highly motivated and organised, with an excellent eye for detail and strong creativity.
  • Be proactive, ‘can-do’ and an excellent communicator (with a strong command of the English Language both written and verbal).
  • Willing to travel to the United Kingdom as and when required.
Passionate about the environment and the renewables sector (preference will be given to candidates that have experience in renewable energy).
