An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Intermediate SQL Developer to join a high-performing technology team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft SQL Server databases and reporting solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions.

Duties:
 

• Design, develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, views and triggers.
• Develop and optimise complex T-SQL queries to improve database performance.
• Design, develop and support ETL processes using SSIS.
• Create and maintain reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI.
• Analyse execution plans and implement query optimisation and indexing strategies.
• Support database deployments, production incidents and root cause analysis.
• Ensure data integrity, security and compliance across database environments.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, QA teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain database documentation and adhere to development standards and best practices.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• National Diploma, BTech or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

• 3–5 years' commercial experience as a SQL Developer.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server development experience.
• Advanced T-SQL skills.
• Experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers and views.
• Hands-on experience with SSIS.
• Experience with SSRS and/or Power BI.
• Solid understanding of relational database design and data modelling.
• Experience with query optimisation, indexing and performance tuning.
• Exposure to Git and/or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory or other Microsoft Azure data services.
• Exposure to SSAS or Data Warehousing.
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications.
• Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or Technology environments.
