Minimum requirements
- Matric
- RE5 qualification (must have)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in short or long-term insurance
- High ethical standards
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English

Duties and responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance applications and supporting documentation to determine risk exposure
- Review property, financial, and client information to assess eligibility and coverage requirements
- Analyse statistical data, reports, and claims history to support sound underwriting decisions
- Prepare, review, and approve insurance quotes, policies, and endorsements in line with company guidelines
- Ensure underwriting practices comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards
- Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and premiums with brokers, agents, and clients
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, risk assessments, and correspondence
- Collaborate with sales, claims, and risk management teams to support business objectives
- Monitor existing policies for renewals, changes, or cancellations, ensuring accuracy and profitability
- Provide excellent service and clear communication to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Work hours
Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:45
Friday: 08:00 - 16:15
Remuneration
R 13 000 basic + Pension fund contribution (after 3 month probation period)
