Introduction
Our client requires the services of an Installation Technician in the Technical Department. This department is responsible for the effective installation of sophisticated electronic equipment into vehicles. The role requires supporting the existing organisation of work and staff within the department, as well as collaborating with other departments and branches. Attention to detail and meticulousness are essential requirements for the job. Candidates must be customer service driven, able to work independently, and well-presented.

Job Description

• Perform installations of sophisticated electronic units into various vehicle types, including trucks and plant machinery.

• Carry out installations in line with the required quality standards.

• Perform installations at locations convenient to the customer.

• Communicate with customers about the installation process in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

• Complete all relevant documentation associated with installations.

• Provide customer service in accordance with set standards.

• Take responsibility for determining and requesting additional stock in advance to avoid unnecessary delays.

• Perform duties in a cost-effective manner.

Minimum Requirements

• National Technical Certificate in Automotive Electronics/Motor Mechanic.

• Matric.

• Grade E PSIRA registration.

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an auto electrician or motor mechanic.

• Strong communication and administrative skills.

• Solid fault-finding skills and techniques.

• Proven ability to deliver service excellence.

• Willingness to travel.

• Computer literacy (MS Office) will be an advantage.

• Valid driver’s license.
