Information System Delivery Partner

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Key Requirements:

• Develop and drive the execution of agreed projects
• Drive the implementation, tracking, monitoring and compliance of Projects
• Co-ordinate project reporting
• Ensure effective implementation of the integrated project management model
• Risk management
• Support the business area concerned in gaining any other necessary approvals for the project (e.g., financial, commercial, capex, procurement etc.) including input into the development of an appropriate Business Case
• Once the project has been accepted into the approved portfolio, work with the IS PMO to agree a projected delivery slot for the project in the IS development pipeline
• Maintain a view on this delivery slot during conceptualisation and approval; together with the IS PMO, adjust as necessary
• Monitor the delivery of the project by IS; ensure appropriate business area support to IS during development and assist in the resolution of any issues between IS and the business as these emerge
• Monitor testing of the project by IS; ensure appropriate business area support to IS during testing and assist in the resolution of any issues between IS and the business as these emerge
• Together with the business Project Manager, oversee the acceptance testing of the project and ensure (through the Project Manager) that the Project Sponsor and Business Owner accept IS’ deliverables to successfully close-out the project
• Work between the business area concerned and IS during the immediate post-handover period to identify and address any issues that emerge during initial adoption of the deliverables by the business area
• Complete the sign-off process, ensure IS-related lessons are captured and disseminated into the business and to the IS PMO
• Ensure that the business area concerned adopts proper governance for approved projects; at a minimum, help the business area concerned to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Project Sponsor and Project Manager
• Support the business area concerned in the development of the concept of the project, engaging specialist colleagues from IS where necessary; ensure that IS deliverability is built into the project concept at every stage of its development
• Assist the business area concerned to prepare a robust RDS that meets IS’ acceptance test
• Support the approval of the RDS by the relevant Product Development Forum and Project Governance Forum (e.g., PFC)
• Work with the IS PMO to accept the project for solutioning and development.
• On Single domain projects (without a specific IS PM assigned), be closely involved in the delivery.

Education:

• 4 years tertiary qualification /Masters advantageous
• BSc (Engineering, Computer Science), B Com Information systems or National Diploma
• Internationally recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMP certified
• Fluent in English

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, portfolio management and people management.
• Experience working in a medium to large organization
• Experience managing projects with cross-functional teams and on different technology platforms.
• Experience in the telecommunication industry would be an advantage
• Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
