SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing employee relations, labour compliance, dispute resolution, performance management and related HR functions, ensuring sound industrial relations practices and compliance with South African labour legislation.

POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent the company at the CCMA and MEIBC Centre for Dispute Resolution during conciliations and arbitrations.
Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, poor performance and incapacity procedures.
Train and advise management on labour relations policies and procedures.
Manage Employment Equity, Performance Management and EAP programmes.
Monitor and manage absenteeism and related employee matters.
Investigate labour disputes, employee complaints and suspected fraudulent documentation.
Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with labour legislation.
Promote effective dispute prevention through fact-finding, mediation and conciliation.
Provide advice on employee communication structures and labour-related matters.
Prepare monthly Industrial Relations reports for management.
Support recruitment and selection processes, including advertising, shortlisting and interviewing.
Handle employee queries relating to remuneration, benefits and HR policies.
Assist with ad hoc HR projects and duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Postgraduate qualification in Labour Law or related Labour Law qualification.
Certificate in Dispute Resolution Practice / Labour Law Practice.
Extensive experience in Industrial Relations and Labour Relations.
Proven experience representing employers at the CCMA and statutory bargaining councils, preferably MEIBC.
Strong experience in disciplinary hearings, grievances, performance management and incapacity procedures.
Experience managing Employment Equity and absenteeism processes.
Working knowledge of SAGE 300 would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and dispute-resolution processes.
Excellent communication, investigation, advisory and conflict-resolution skills.
