## The Opportunity
We are looking to engage an experienced 180 Recruitment Consultant on an independent contractor basis to provide recruitment delivery services to a growing UK permanent recruitment desk.
This is a delivery-focused recruitment contract. The successful contractor will not be responsible for business development or running a 360° recruitment desk. The primary objective of the engagement is to successfully source, engage, qualify and manage candidates through permanent recruitment processes, with a strong focus on achieving placements.
We are particularly interested in recruiters who already understand permanent recruitment and who have approximately 12–18 months' practical recruitment experience, including a demonstrable record of working permanent vacancies and successfully making placements.
This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys the delivery side of recruitment, is commercially driven and understands that consistent sourcing, candidate engagement, telephone activity and follow-up are necessary to produce results in a competitive recruitment market.
## Scope of Recruitment Services
The independent contractor will provide recruitment delivery services in support of permanent UK vacancies, which may include:

## Contractor Profile

Approximately *12–18 months' recruitment experience**
Practical experience in *permanent recruitment**
* Previous successful permanent placements
* Strong candidate sourcing and head-hunting ability

* Good recruitment administration and CRM discipline
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Resilience and persistence
* A commercially focused and output-driven approach
* The ability to operate independently and take accountability for agreed deliverables
Experience recruiting within the UK market would be advantageous but is not essential where the contractor has strong permanent recruitment experience and the ability to adapt to a new market.
## The Type of Contractor We Want to Work With
Recruitment is a results-driven industry and the UK permanent market can be demanding.
We therefore want to work with someone who understands that successful recruitment requires consistent activity and follow-through.
The contractor should be comfortable:
* Picking up the phone and speaking to candidates
* Proactively approaching passive candidates
* Working difficult-to-fill vacancies
* Following up consistently
* Handling rejection and changing recruitment requirements
* Managing several recruitment processes simultaneously
* Taking ownership of agreed recruitment outcomes
* Working independently without requiring continuous supervision
* Remaining focused on producing interviews and placements
We value attitude, resilience, accountability and delivery.
## Independent Contractor Arrangement
This opportunity is offered specifically as a contract for services with an independent contractor and is not advertised as a permanent employment position.
The contractor will be engaged to provide agreed recruitment services and achieve agreed recruitment deliverables in accordance with a written Independent Contractor Agreement.
The engagement will initially be concluded for an agreed fixed term of between 6 and 12 months.
Any continuation or renewal beyond the initial contract period will be subject to:
* The contractor's performance and delivery
* The ongoing requirements of the UK recruitment desk

* Mutual written agreement between the parties
There is no automatic expectation or guarantee of renewal at the conclusion of the contract term.
## Contract Fee & Commission

The contractor will also have access to a competitive placement-based commission structure, which will be set out in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
The contractor will invoice for services rendered in accordance with the agreed invoicing and payment terms.
## Independent Working Arrangement
The contractor will be responsible for organising and managing the manner in which the agreed recruitment services are delivered, subject to:
* Agreed recruitment deliverables and performance standards
* Vacancy and client requirements
* Agreed deadlines and service levels
* Candidate availability
* UK market requirements
* Confidentiality and data-protection obligations
* Applicable company systems and recruitment processes necessary for service delivery
Performance will be assessed primarily against agreed outputs and recruitment deliverables, including sourcing activity, candidate submissions, interviews, candidate management and successful placements.
## Remote Working Requirements
The services will be provided remotely, and contractors must therefore have their own suitable professional home-working infrastructure.
The contractor must provide and maintain, at their own cost unless otherwise agreed:
* A reliable laptop or desktop computer capable of supporting recruitment systems and applications
* Stable, high-speed internet connectivity
* Appropriate backup internet/connectivity
* A suitable headset and communication equipment
* A quiet and professional environment from which recruitment calls can be conducted
* Any other normal equipment reasonably necessary to provide the contracted services
Computer specifications and internet connectivity may be verified as part of the contractor selection process.
## Tax & Contractor Responsibilities
As an independent contractor, the individual is responsible for managing their own tax affairs and other obligations associated with operating independently, subject always to any deductions or withholding that the contracting company may be legally required to make.
The contractor is responsible for determining and meeting any applicable income tax, provisional tax or other statutory obligations arising from their independent contracting activities.
The engagement does not, merely by virtue of the service agreement, provide employee benefits such as paid annual leave, paid sick leave, pension/provident fund contributions or other employee benefits.
## Location
Applicants must currently be based in Cape Town / Western Cape, although the recruitment services will be provided on a fully remote basis.
## Contract Opportunity
This opportunity would suit an experienced permanent recruiter who wants to work independently, has the infrastructure to operate remotely and is confident taking responsibility for recruitment delivery.
If you have a proven permanent recruitment background, can work independently and understand that successful recruitment is driven by consistent activity, resilience and placements, we would like to hear from you.
