SUMMARY:
Our client, based in the Central suburbs of Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal is currently recruiting for an In-House Operations Controller. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience in import and export, air, and sea, clearing and forwarding controller duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

Matric.
10 – 15 years’ experience in import and export, air, and sea, clearing and forwarding controller duties.
Relevant Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
Valid driver’s license.
Essential:

MS Office
Cargowise

In-house controller experience.
Essential: ISO exposure

Roles and responsibilities:

Manage and provide regular updates on the status of client purchase orders.
Processing of all shipments on Cargowise.
Manage exceptional crisis shipments in an effective and a professional manner.
Building solutions on new routes and suppliers.
Working as a team with the client’s procurement team.
Filing and E-docs in line with ISO requirements.
Liaise with all third-party service providers with regards to execution and paperwork.
Manage exceptional crisis shipments in a professional and effective way.
Responsible to negotiate rates.
Ensure that cargo release and delivery procedures are met.
Ensuring that incoming documents are checked, registered, and properly processed.
Ensuring that the service performance objectives are consistently achieved.
