POSITION INFO:

This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring imported components, materials, and equipment required for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and on-time delivery of critical components to support production targets.

Note: This is a temporary contract

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in import purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment
• Experience purchasing technical or engineered components from international suppliers
• Strong understanding of international trade, import logistics, customs clearance, and Incoterms
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as Syspro, Forward, or similar
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and procurement systems

Key Performance Areas 

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with international suppliers
• Manage purchase orders in line with production plans, inventory targets, and bill of material requirements
• Coordinate import logistics including Incoterms, freight forwarders, shipment schedules, and customs documentation
• Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs tariffs, and trade agreements
• Monitor supplier performance relating to cost, quality, delivery, and technical compliance
• Track shipments and proactively resolve supply chain delays or shortages impacting production
• Support engineering and quality teams with supplier documentation, technical specifications, and certifications
• Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing information on the ERP system
• Assist with supplier development initiatives and alternative sourcing strategies
• Support cost reduction, localisation, and continuous improvement projects
• Work closely with planning, production, logistics, finance, and quality teams to minimise supply risk
• Compile and maintain procurement and supplier performance reports
