Import Clerk - Durban

SUMMARY:
My Client based in Durban is seeking an Imports Clerk to be apart of their dynamic team.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• • Matric and Maritime experience
  • Strong Computer and communication skills (MS Word, Excel, Navis, Outlook)

• Duties: 
• Process AR and submit Invoice to customer for timeous payments.
• Pay attention to special requirements such as JNB drop‑off requests, overborder shipments, special equipment, or VIP customers with different tariff structures.
• Print invoice and attach copy to freight list to expedite the release process.
• Issue off‑hire container notices to customers and ensure receipt of customer acknowledgement.
• Endorse special remarks/requirements on the system, e.g., off‑hire container or overborder deposit waived.
• Contact customers when necessary for shipments pending AR to be invoiced, expediting AR and final release processes.
• Monitor vessel ETA to ensure the correct R.O.E. setting date, prioritizing early commencement of AR for vessels arriving earlier than scheduled.
• Follow up with customers for POP regarding funds that remain un‑receipted in the ESA account.
• Compile weekly JNB drop‑off statistics report and final acquittal report for timely AQM submission.
• Assist and respond to customer queries with effective solutions.
• Support section tasks during peak periods or staff absences
