SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain our computer systems.

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain our computer systems and networks aiming for the highest efficiency. You will also “train” users in the use of the various systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

Requirements:

• Matric
• A qualification in Information Technology (Higher certificate / Diploma) will advantageous
• A+
• N+
• 12 months experience in a similar role
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Organisational and time management skills
• Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles will be advantageous.

Scope:

• Desktop support remote and face to face
• Setup Desktops / workstations with necessary peripherals devices (routers, Printers, etc…)
• Check Computer Hardware to ensure functionality.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc…)
• Line ping tests
• Trouble shooting, setting up and testing webcams and headsets
• Working on MS Forms / O365 / MS Teams
• Experience with Skype
• Continuous ping tests
• Trace route
• Troubleshoot line faults with ISP
• Provide reports to CM and IT Manager
• Able to work overtime when necessary
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimise performance
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new Software and computer equipment
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work or degrading network performance.
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Maintain spare equipment stock levels and identify shortages and place orders of same with CM or IT Manager.
