POSITION INFO:

Network Security Engineer (junior)
Observatory, CAPE TOWN

Please note the following for this role:
1 – this role is a hybrid role, based in CAPE TOWN
2 – this is a role for a JUNIOR

The role involves becoming familiar with designated network security technologies and learning to assist with first and second line support, as well as assisting team members with various engagements. An interest in end-user support, and a desire to learn, will be key to the role.

Required Skills:
- 1-2 years’ working experience in an end-user support role
- Basic troubleshooting skills & understanding the OSI Model
- Basic networking knowledge
- Basic understanding of computing infrastructure
- Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Honestly, Integrity & Client-centricity
- Displays high levels of ownership, responsibility and integrity
- Self-disciplined and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask and prioritise
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently in a high-pressure environment, but also as part of the team

- Passion for cyber security

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Daily Health Checks
- Resolution of issues from daily health checks where applicable
- First Line technical support on all relevant technologies
- Assist Mid-Level and Senior Engineers with customer related tasks and tickets
- Call tracking and updating ticketing system with logging time accordingly
