SUMMARY:
Our client, based in Cape Town, is looking to add a Junior IT Security Engineer to assist drive initiatives that protect the security of their clients and employees across continents.

POSITION INFO:

In this role, you will work closely with the IT Security Manager, IT Security Architect, IT, Legal/Compliance, and other engineers to help create solutions to complex security problems. You will need to have essential work habits, including the ability to work methodically (and in a detail-oriented way).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (amongst others)

Perform daily security operation activities
Preform cyber-security investigations and analysis of threats
Test for vulnerabilities and present findings
Recommend security enhancements to management
Manage firewalls, web application firewalls and network security.
Reporting on the health of the security environment
Handle any security related incidents and co-ordinate with the various other teams and suppliers

Technical skills:

Basic understanding of PKI, Networking, OS, Proxies, Firewalls, Active Directory, LDAPS and Anti-virus.
Security+ or other security Certification is a definite advantage.
