SUMMARY:
Position: IT Infrastructure Manager
Location: Head Office, Kraaifontein
Reports To: Head of Group IT

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the IT Support & Service Desk team, ensuring SLA adherence and user satisfaction
• Act as escalation point for critical incidents and major service-impacting issues
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain ITIL-aligned processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
• Oversee vendor management and ensure accountability from external service providers

• Manage core IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, firewalls, and cloud systems
• Administer Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365
• Support and maintain network infrastructure: FortiGate, Netgear, Unifi, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and routers
• Oversee system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Plan, implement, and document system upgrades and new technology rollouts
• Monitor system performance, ensuring uptime, reliability, and scalability

• Define and implement standards for infrastructure architecture, network access, and IT security
• Support IT projects across departments, ensuring infrastructure readiness and secure configurations
• Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and operational procedures
• Lead infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, replacements, and migrations

• Ensure compliance with data protection, cybersecurity best practices, and internal controls
• Regularly evaluate infrastructure risks, perform assessments, and implement mitigation plans
• Conduct disaster recovery tests and maintain DR readiness

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Information Technology or related field
• Microsoft Certified: MCSE or equivalent
• Fortinet NSE Certification (preferred)
• ITIL Service Management certification (advantageous)

• 5+ years in IT Infrastructure or Systems Administration, with at least 3 years in a management/lead role
• Hands-on experience supporting hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
• Proven ability to lead a support team and manage infrastructure projects end to end
• Experience working with medium-to-large business environments

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365
• Strong networking skills: FortiGate firewalls, routing, switching, and VPN technologies
• Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V), backup tools (Veeam), and Linux server administration
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure), mobile device management, and endpoint security
• Scripting (PowerShell) and automation knowledge (advantageous)
• Experience with IT monitoring and alerting systems
