My client is seeking an experienced IT Administrator to take ownership of Microsoft 365 administration, IT governance, and internal controls within a structured, compliance-driven environment. This role is suited to a detail-oriented professional with a strong control mindset and the ability to support both governance and operational IT functions.

POSITION INFO:

Role Overview

The IT Administrator will be responsible for managing Microsoft 365 services, enforcing access governance, maintaining IT General Controls (ITGCs), and ensuring audit readiness. The role also requires involvement in operational IT support to ensure business continuity when required.

Key Responsibilities

Administer Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) within defined role boundaries
Manage access governance, including user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews
Enforce least-privilege access principles across systems
Maintain IT General Controls (ITGCs), including policies, procedures, and standards
Oversee backup and recovery processes, including monitoring and escalation
Manage and document change control processes
Ensure audit log retention and readiness for internal and external audits
Coordinate with vendors and service providers, including validation of invoices
Report on risks, controls, and exceptions to the IT Manager
Provide operational IT support when required, including during peak periods or staff shortages

Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in IT, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant IT experience
Proven experience with Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
Strong exposure to IT governance, access control, and audit environments
Microsoft 365 certification (advantageous)

Willingness to be on standby (24/7/365)
Ability to support operational IT functions when required
