SUMMARY:
A leading Waste Management company is seeking the services of a Human Resources (HR) Generalist - Special Projects for its Head Office in Germiston.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Responsible for performing HR-related functions on a professional level and works closely with Senior HR Management in supporting designated geographic regions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all vacancies within your area of responsibility are concluded in a timeously manner.
  • To ensure that job requirements for a vacant position adhere to the requirements of line management and that the job description comply with all the necessary job specifications and responsibilities.
  • To ensure that vacancies are timeously advertised internally and externally.
  • Making sure that all medical documentation is completed, reported to service provider and subsequent loading by payroll.
  • Development of Training Matrixes based on site requirements.
  • Ensure that training documentation is submitted correctly and timeously to the training co-ordinator.
  • Co-ordinate the quarterly EE and SD meetings.
  • Make sure minutes are recorded and circulated to role players.
  • Ensure that all EE related information is continuously updated.
  • Approve all warnings and disciplinary charges.
  • Ensure all disciplinary matters is recorded for statistical purposes.
  • Support and guide management team on employee relations and disciplinary issues, when required.
  • Make sure that payroll is notified immediately of suspensions with full pay.
  • Represent the company at CCMA for conciliations and arbitrations.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly stats are provided timeously.
  • Administer all ad-hoc HR related items / matters.
  • Update job profiles as and when required.
  • Check and ensure that leave are captured and monitored.
  • Make sure the desertion process is followed as per standard procedures. 
  • Monitoring Long Services Awards and ensuring that internal process is adhered to.
  • Ensure that all employees conduct their SHEQ inductions within their probationary periods.
  • Employee medicals - pre-employment, annual and exit
  • DOL audits with the preparation of all the required documentation
  •  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Human Resources,  [Honorary Degree Advantageous]
  • Intermediate capability in Microsoft Office
  • Valid Code 08/10 Drivers Licence, Own Vehicle [Advantageous]
  • In-depth knowledge of the BCEA, LRA, EEA, SD Act
  • Registered Skills Development Facilitator [Advantageous]
  • Registration with COMENSA [Advantageous],
  • Registration  as commissioner of oaths [Advantageous],

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
  • Sage VIP Premier Experience. At least 2 years.
  • Valid Code 08 Drivers Licence
