POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a motivated Hotel Porter to join the Front Office team and provide a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for all guests. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating exceptional first and last impressions while supporting smooth hotel operations.
Critical Criteria (Requirements)

• Previous experience as a porter, bellman, or in guest services within a hotel environment is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Physically fit, able to lift and carry luggage safely
• Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards
• Friendly, service-oriented personality with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• South African citizen with a valid ID

• Guest Arrival & Departure Assistance – Greet guests warmly, assist with luggage, and escort to rooms with a professional introduction to facilities and services
• Front-of-House Support – Provide courteous assistance with directions, transport, hotel information, and delivery of messages, parcels, or amenities
• Service Excellence – Anticipate guest needs, provide proactive, friendly service, and maintain a polished and approachable appearance
• Operational Duties – Ensure lobby, entrances, and luggage storage areas remain clean, organised, and secure; handle guest property with care
• Team Collaboration – Support concierge, reception, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations

• Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage to rooms
• Escort departing guests, ensuring luggage is handled efficiently
• Provide information and assistance to guests regarding hotel services and local attractions
• Deliver messages, parcels, and guest amenities promptly and courteously
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of lobby, entrances, and luggage storage areas
• Handle guest property with care, ensuring security and accountability
• Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations
• Uphold the hotel’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
