SUMMARY:
Position: Hotel Laundry Attendant
Location: Cape Town
 
Hospitality Hire is recruiting an experienced Hotel Laundry Attendant for a busy hotel in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that hotel linen, towels, uniforms and other laundry items are cleaned, processed and maintained to the required hotel standards.
This is a hands-on position requiring someone who is physically fit, reliable and comfortable working in a busy hotel laundry environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous/Current experience working as a Laundry Attendant within a hotel or hospitality environment
• Experience working in hotels
• Knowledge of washing, drying, ironing, pressing and folding procedures
• Understanding of different fabrics, washing temperatures and laundry chemicals
• Able to identify stains and apply the correct treatment
• Able to work efficiently in a high-volume laundry environment
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and handle laundry loads
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• South African ID required

• Sort hotel linen, towels and uniforms according to fabric type, colour and cleaning requirements
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers and other laundry equipment
• Wash, dry, iron, press and fold laundry according to hotel standards
• Check linen and garments for stains, damage and general condition
• Apply appropriate stain-removal treatments where required
• Ensure clean laundry is correctly folded, counted and prepared for distribution
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the laundry area
• Handle hotel linen and uniforms carefully to minimise damage and unnecessary replacement costs
• Report damaged linen, faulty equipment or maintenance concerns
• Follow all health, safety and chemical-handling procedures
• Assist with stock counts and linen control when required
• Support the Housekeeping team with laundry-related duties as required
