Health and Safety Officer (3 months contract)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

To perform the main health and safety duties in the workplace. They are responsible for ensuring that there is a safe working environment for employees and other relevant parties. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager.

Their responsibilities are:

  • Ensure safety file is always updated
  • Assists in carrying out inspections of workplaces and takes necessary action to ensure compliance
  • Assists in responding to and investigating concerns/complaints from workers/employers and assists in taking appropriate action
  • Assists in investigating accidents or injuries that occur in the workplace
  • Establishment of workplace safety and health committees
  • Performing inspections, there is requirement to carry out prescribed routine industrial hygiene surveys
  • Identification to maintain, develop and continually improve the company’s existing integrated management for health and safety and environmental aspects of the business
  • Liaison with site and area managers, ensuring that housekeeping on site is compiled with interaction and specifications
  • Training of Safety Reps
