A Big 5 Game Lodge in Pilanesberg, North West is seeking a creative and skilled Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry section and deliver exceptional desserts and baked goods. The ideal candidate will bring innovation, precision, and consistency, ensuring all pastry offerings meet luxury lodge standards.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENT:
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Relevant Pastry / Culinary qualification
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Head Pastry Chef in a luxury hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation
- Ability to create innovative menus and seasonal offerings
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and creativity
- Good organisational and stock control skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the pastry kitchen and daily operations
- Create and maintain high-end desserts, pastries, and baked goods
- Design and update dessert menus and offerings
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage stock, ordering, and ingredient sourcing
- Train and develop pastry team members
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and production planning
PACKAGE:
- R20 000 Negotiable (DOE)
- Live-in accommodation provided
