Head: Learning Development & Talent

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced Head: Learning Development & Talent to lead and drive the company''s Learning & Development, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, and Culture Transformation strategies. This strategic leadership role is responsible for building organisational capability, developing future leaders, strengthening talent pipelines, and fostering a high-performance culture that supports long-term business growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation''s Learning and Development, Talent Management, and Succession Planning strategy.
• Drive organisational culture, leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and capability-building initiatives.
• Establish and manage talent review forums to support succession planning and talent development.
• Develop sustainable talent management and employee retention programmes.
• Manage relationships with relevant SETAs and ensure compliance with Skills Development legislation.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports.
• Identify organisational training and development needs and implement appropriate learning interventions.
• Manage learning and development budgets and measure return on investment.
• Drive transformation initiatives and support Employment Equity and Transformation Committees.
• Establish and maintain trainee, graduate, and learnership programmes.
• Lead succession planning initiatives across all business units.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on learning, talent, and development metrics.
• Manage the Socio-Economic Development (SED) pillar.
• Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, managers, and external training providers.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Learning & Development team.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, Organisational Development, and Succession Planning.
• Proven experience in leadership development, culture transformation, and organisational capability building.
• Strong knowledge of Skills Development legislation, SETA requirements, and Workplace Skills Plans.
• Experience managing learnerships, graduate programmes, and transformation initiatives.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
