SUMMARY:
HUMAN RESOURCE / IR MANAGER

POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking to employ a professional HR Manger to provide the full function of HR and IR to their company, the ideal candidate must have recent working experience within a medium sized organisation with a staff compliment of more than 150. The successful candidate must be competent, show ability and have a proven track record in all matters related to internal processes of chairing disciplinary and incapacity inquiries, handling grievances, and assisting with operational requirement termination processes as well as successfully representing the company at the CCMA.

  Qualifications:

  • Completed matric
  • Degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations/Labour Law
  • Post graduate studies would be an added advantage

 Experience and requirements:

  • 8 or more years recent working experience in an HR & IR role
  • Computer literate
  • A stable work record and contactable references
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Afrikaans
  • Able to travel to their Branch in Natal when required
  • Own reliable transport
  • Knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EE Act, Bargaining Council Agreements, OSHA, and the Skills Development Act is essential
  • Must be willing to learn and be resilient in the context of handling workplace conflict, negotiations, and production stresses.
  • A relationship builder over long-term seeking solutions and productive relationships at the workplace
  • Assertive and have the courage and confidence to strive for what is right, or to achieve high standards in the workplace.
  • Ability to work towards deadlines and work independently.

    • Reside close to Germiston

Duties and Responsibilities

 Ensures that the factory’s resourcing and talent development strategies provide a pipeline of strong candidates into the organisation.

  • Ensures that the employee relations activities generate sound industrial relationships on the factory floor between employees and management.
  • Ensuring that internal policies are in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that line managers are effectively trained in handling industrial relations matters.
  • Provides strategic advice and support to line managers to support continuous improvement within the factory on work processes, change management, communications, and problem solving.
  • Monitors and valuates training activities at the factory and ensures effective liaison with central training activities.
  • Contributes as a member of the factory management team.
  • Supports company safety drives.
  • Advising line management on the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures in relation to applicable legislation.
  • Partnering with line management in driving fair labour relations within the business.
  • Assisting with monitoring the overall organizational climate and identifying areas of concerns.
  • Completes bursary applications/funding and submits to HR Executive for authorisation.
  • Completion and submission of Employment Equity and Workplace Skills plans and Annual Training Reports to DOL annually.
  • Manage Employment Equity in the workplace with assistance from HR Executive.
  • Manage Performance Management in the workplace with assistance from HR Executive
  • Knowledge of labour relations required – law and main agreement.
  • Knowledge of resourcing and talent management essential.
  • Knowledge of training legislation.
