About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, energetic HR & Training Specialist to drive end-to-end human capital operations across our expanding group of entities, including financial services, insurance, micro-insurance, retail, and our dedicated training academy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines end-to-end volume recruitment, payroll processing, SETA-aligned training administration, and generalist HR support.

This is a dynamic operational role with clear progression potential toward a senior HR Manager position as the group grows.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (Primary Priority): Drive end-to-end recruitment for call centre, retail, admin, and technical roles. Source, screen, interview, execute MIE/background checks, and build shortlists for line managers.
Training & SETA Administration: Oversee operational administration for our insurance training academy, coordinate workplace skills development, and manage annual WSP/ATR submissions (specifically INSETA).
Payroll Processing: Audit and process monthly payroll inputs (leave, overtime, variables) using Sage-Pastel before handing off to Finance.
Employee Lifecycle & Engagement: Facilitate onboarding, manage probation reviews, conduct exit interviews, and handle offboarding/UIF documentation.
Performance & IR Support: Facilitate performance appraisal frameworks. Guide line managers on workplace discipline, draft warnings/charges, manage incapacity, and represent the company at the CCMA when required.
Compliance & EE: Ensure alignment with Labour Legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, POPIA), handle IOD claims, display statutory posters, and submit annual Employment Equity reports.

Requirements

Education: B.Degree or B.Tech in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or equivalent.
Experience: 1–5 years of generalist HR experience with a strong track record in volume recruitment and general HR administration.
Industry Experience: Financial Services, Insurance, SME, or Call Centre background strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:

Working knowledge of SETA processes and WSP/ATR submissions (INSETA preferred).
Hands-on payroll input experience (Sage-Pastel knowledge required).
Strong working knowledge of SA Labour Legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, POPIA).
Advanced MS Office skills.
