The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Stipend: R7700 pm

Location: Rosebank (Johannesburg)

About the role 
As an Intermediate HR & Finance Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing payroll, financial reconciliations, SARS filing, and reporting, while also supporting recruitment and HR operations. You will work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and compliance while maintaining a streamlined hiring process.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Compliance

• Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
• Manage statutory filings, including SARS (PAYE, UIF, and SDL submissions).
• Reconcile payroll data with financial accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain records for audits and regulatory compliance.

• Handle financial reconciliations to ensure accuracy in transactions and expense tracking.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, analyzing trends and variances.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning.
• Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and regulatory bodies as required.

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure compliance and smooth transitions.
• Maintain employee records and handle HR administrative duties.
• Support HR policies, workplace compliance, and employee relations.

• South African unemployed YOUTH aged between 18 and 34
• Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
• 2+ years of experience in HR, Payroll, or Finance-related roles.
• A degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, HR, or Business Administration.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, SARS filing, and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll software, and accounting tools (e.g., Sage, Xero,or QuickBooks).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
