HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER WITH PROCUMENT - BALLITO

The successful incumbent will be responsible for reviewing, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.  Will conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals and have knowledge of procurement methods and procedures including purchasing contract management.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

• Utilize current health and safety legislation and/ or regulations to ensure that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to ensure the safety and health of employees, clients and visitors.
• Investigate all accidents and incidents and make recommendations to management to prevent any re-occurrence of incidents.
• Ordering PPE when necessary and the necessary ordering of stock as per the budget
• Drafting and updating risk assessments
• Ensure completion of H&S actions from site visits and completion of monthly H&S inspection report
• Conducting weekly H&S audits in plant (twice a week)
• Chair the H&S committee meetings monthly
• Distributing the H&S safety talks and ensuring the Representative complete the register
• Ordering and re-stocking of first aid boxes monthly
• Maintenance of asset management system
• Communicating with vendors and internal customers to collate requirements and solve problems.
• Executing a standardized tender and contract framework that can be used across the business
• Analyzing financial, quality and service levels for main categories and all procurement duties.

QUALIFICATIONS, MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health and Safety and Procurement compliance.
• SAMTRAC or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Fully proficient in Office 365.
• Be bilingual.
• Project Manager with suppliers and Buildings Budgets
• Investigations experience
• be able to create Management systems
