HCV Claims Administrator

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Administrator with specialist experience in Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) insurance based in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:
This role requires full ownership of the claims lifecycle, from initial registration through to final settlement, ensuring efficient, fair, and compliant outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and process complex, high-value HCV claims from start to finalisation
• Handle all claims in line with Jacana Admin mandates
• Maintain ongoing communication with Brokers and Client Liaison teams via telephone and email regarding claim status
• Provide limited client support and respond to claim-related queries
• Conduct accurate claim assessments and apply strategic negotiation skills to achieve fair outcomes

Qualifications & Experience

• Full qualification at NQF Level 4
• Class of Business Training (where applicable)
• FAIS Regulatory Exam (RE5) certification
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) or large commercial fleet insurance claims

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of heavy commercial motor repair processes and Goods in Transit claims
• High attention to detail with a systematic and thorough approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
• Proficient in MS Office, with experience working in a paperless/workflow-driven environment
• Bilingual: Fluent in English and Afrikaans
