Job Description:
In this role you will support the Groups department by stepping into consultant responsibilities when needed, assisting with operations, systems, and supplier coordination to ensure smooth group travel delivery and high-quality service.
- Oversee consultant desks during leave or educational trips, managing all proposals, re-quotes, and operational follow-up
- Support agent and hosted educational bookings in collaboration with the sales team
- Assist with systems implementation, including testing and troubleshooting
- Follow up on provisional bookings and dormant leads during quieter periods
- Help input bookings during high-demand periods
- Contribute to planning and coordination of Small Group Journeys
- Assist in identifying and onboarding new suppliers and product offerings
- Support creativity and product development within the Groups team
- Provide on-the-ground operational support for group travel when required
Experience Required:
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in inbound tour consulting within the luxury travel sector
- Strong knowledge of the tourism industry, including travel channels, market trends, and destination management
- Familiarity with Southern and East Africa, with the ability to advise and plan tailored itineraries
- Experience working with high-end travel products, including third-party suppliers and bespoke offerings
- Proven ability to deliver service excellence and manage high expectations of discerning clients
- Good understanding of business strategy, commercial decision-making, and market positioning
- Competent in using Tourplan, Wetu, and other industry-standard platforms
- Skilled in crisis response and risk mitigation with a basic understanding of emergency procedures
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
- Proactive, solutions-oriented team player with strong analytical and communication skills
